Rachelle Jeanty live at the 2012 Annual Gala Concert, 15 may at the UNITED NATIONS (NY)

In support of a permanent Memorial of the Victims of Slavery and the Transatlantic Slave Trade

Come Celebrate the Musical Heritage of the Diaspora! Feat. Third World, Mbaye Dieye Faye, Chen Lo and the Lo Frequency, Realized Soul with Rachelle Jeanty and Ben Blythe, April Sutton.

"Over four centuries, more than 18 million people were forcefully removed from Africa to the Americas (including the Caribbean) and Europe. For those who survived the horrific middle passage, thousands of them would later perish as a result of the cruel and inhuane treatment meted out to them and from the appauling conditions in which they had to exist on the plantations. The Permanent Memorial will serve as a reminder of the legacy of the slave trade. It will provide future generations an understanding of the history and consequences of slavery and serves as an educational tool to raise awareness about the current dangers of racism, prejudice and the lingering consequences that continue to impact the descendants of the victims today"(...)

We invite you to watch the live U.N. performance online at www.un.org/webcast Tuesday May 15th at 7pm. We will also act on our pure desire to release a full album this year.

Album D´âme Soul

Album D’ÂME SOUL
Regarded by the critics as ''an authentic French soul album'', “D’ÂME SOUL” is one of those unique recordings, timeless and true. Accompanied by some of the best musicians, a duet with the one and only George Thurston aka Boule Noire comes to treasure this album.

This Soul legend was so moved by Rachelle’s new version of his hit song “Loin, loin de la ville”, that he recorded his unforgettable voice one last time in a touching and final collaboration.
